We seek donations of an unrestricted nature to help support our various activities. These activities include acquisition of needed supplies and local salaries at our Emergency Department at Nyakibale Hospital in Uganda, the development of our curriculum, the ongoing training of our nurse Emergency Care Practitioners, data collection and publication, and work toward the expansion of this program to other sites. In order to support the training of the next class of Emergency Care Providers in 2010-2011, GECC also funds a stipend for an on-site program director who mentors our Ugandan Team as they implement the training program and teach additional nurses. This is an important step in replicating our emergency care model in other underserved regions of Uganda and Sub-Saharan Africa.
Please note, all GECC volunteers donate their time and pay for their own trip costs.
